How to get featured on Creative Boom
Submission Guidelines
We love highlighting creative people, projects, and stories. If you're an artist, designer, illustrator, studio, publisher, or someone with a story worth telling, there are plenty of ways to get featured, as outlined below.
A few quick things before you send us your pitch. We receive so many submissions that it's impossible to reply to everyone, but we do try to read every one. If your pitch is a good fit, we'll be in touch. Email is always the way. We don't accept pitches via social media. Following the guidelines below gives you the best possible chance.
If you'd like guaranteed coverage on Creative Boom, check out our advertising opportunities.
News
Got breaking news or an announcement for the creative industry? We'd love to hear about it. Send your press release, imagery, and any supporting details to [email protected], and we'll consider it for our News section, reaching over a million creatives every month.
If your story is a client win, a promotion, or a big hire, it belongs in Booms & Shakes, our regular roundup of who's making waves across the creative industries – from new appointments and studio launches to the juicier bits of industry gossip. Email the details, along with a relevant image, to [email protected].
Inspiration
Are you an artist, designer, illustrator, animator, photographer, filmmaker, or maker? Our Inspiration section showcases new and established talent from around the world.
When you submit, please include:
- Your full name, location, and a short bio
- A link to your website or portfolio
- A description of the project (or a press release)
- At least six JPEGs or PNGs, 2,600px wide, RGB – no white borders or backgrounds, please
- For moving image, GIFs (at least 1,000px wide and under 10MB) or MP4s, or a YouTube or Vimeo link
- Any extra context – where you studied (if anywhere), your style, your inspirations, and what you care about. The more you tell us, the better your chances.
Agencies and studios, please send full project details, images, and videos to [email protected].
Insight
Are you a freelancer, studio owner, or creative leader with an experience, story, or perspective others could learn from? Our Insight section is home to behind-the-scenes stories, honest commentary, and lessons learned the hard way. Email your pitch to [email protected].
Tips and resources
Got practical advice for creatives, or a tool, book, or resource worth sharing? We're always looking for ideas that will help our readers for our Tips and Resources sections. Send the details to [email protected].
Publishers, we regularly feature new books – from inspiring monographs and practical guides to coffee-table favourites. We're happy to review digital copies, but a physical book is even better, as we love to feature them in photography and on our socials.
The Creative Boom Podcast
Hosted by our founding editor Katy Cowan, our five-star rated podcast has passed a million downloads and consistently ranks in the top three of the Apple Podcasts design chart. Guests have included Paula Scher, Stefan Sagmeister, Oliver Jeffers, Annie Atkins, Gail Anderson, Timothy Goodman, and Stanley Chow.
To nominate yourself, or someone else, as a future guest, email [email protected]. Thanks so much for your interest. Our next two seasons are fully booked, so we'll be reviewing new submissions from late 2026.
The Studio
Creative Boom has always been more than a magazine and a podcast. It's a community. In February 2025, we brought everyone together in one place with the launch of The Studio, our private membership, which now has over 8,000 members.
Inside, we host Studio Sessions, virtual webinars with inspiring creatives designed to share advice, spark conversation, and support one another. We also run Creative Boom IRL, laid-back social events hosted by volunteers across 14 chapters: Belfast, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Durham, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Shrewsbury, and New York City.
If you'd like to suggest a speaker, propose a theme, or partner with us on a future Studio Session, email [email protected].
