Women in Print: Art to celebrate iconic women who've contributed to Manchester

Artistic tributes include Emmeline Pankhurst – leader of the suffragette movement; Ethel "Sunny" Lowry – who became the fourth woman to swim the English Channel in 1933; Louise Da-Cocodia, a nurse and activist who worked for equality of opportunity for Manchester's inner city residents; Marie Stopes – the first female academic on the faculty at the University of Manchester and the founder of the first birth control clinic in Britain; and the late, great Victoria Wood – local comedy star and national treasure.

Organised by independent graphic designer and illustrator Jane Bowyer – with artists including Eve Warren, Helen Musselwhite, Memo, Sarah Cowan and Angela Roche – the work is currently on show at Rudy's Pizza Place in Ancoats until 30 August 2016.
