This weekend sees the return of Glasgow Print Fair, with the 2021 edition featuring artists like DR.ME, Risotto Studio, Micheal Driver, Supermundane and, you guessed it, many many more.
As with last year's event, this fair is taking place online and runs from 19 - 26 June. Hailing from around Europe and beyond, work from 25 artist is on show based around the theme of travel.
Created to promote print in Scotland, Glasgow Print Fair is a collaboration between local creatives Kaye Symington, co-founder of Paved with Gold, and Jane McDevitt, partner at Maraid Design.
"The theme of travel is something I think everyone can connect with as we slowly emerge from lockdown," says Symington. "Our eyes are on the horizon with the world opening up and feeling that we will soon be able to get out there and explore."
As you'd imagine from the breadth of approaches that the featured artists work with, travel is taken in multifarious creative directions here; from daydreaming to summer sunshine to landscape-based dick pics.
The full list of participating artists is: DR.ME, Lou Rowland, Alice Dansey Wright, Tess Smith Roberts, Conor Nolan, Eleni Kalorkoti, Kieron Redmond, Linn Fritz, Thomas Hedger, Adam Higton, Sanna Hellikki Turunen, Supermundane, KMGYeah, Andreas Samulesson x Raclet, Katie Smith, Wild Press, Dominika Lipniewska, Ruan Van Vliet, Concrete Nature Studio, David Lemm, ploterre, Michael Driver, Lauren Morsley, Hollie Fuller and Risotto Studio.
"With the pandemic many fairs have not been able to run. It was really important for us to do all that we could to continue to shout about print. We’re so excited to share the work from so many talented creatives," says McDevitt.
Prints vary in price from £15 to £100 and can be purchased from each artist through the Glasgow Print Fair website. All proceeds go directly to the artists with an option to make a small donation to Glasgow-based charity, Refuweegee.
Glasgow Print Fair launched in 2019 at The Lighthouse, Glasgow, with more than 50 artists showing their wares over a one-day festival attended by more than 2000 visitors.
