If you weren't already aware, 36 Days of Type invites artists to create a letter a day and post their creations on Instagram using the '36 Days' hashtag. It was a challenge Manchester designer Robert Lomas set himself recently to boost his skills.
"I've been moving into animation for some time and had just gone freelance, so I felt it was a great opportunity to get my name out there as well as try new things," says Robert. "It wasn't easy. And there were some days when I'd still not completed the letter until nearly midnight, but I got there in the end."
The bright and fun series of animated letters explores a journey through colour and continually evolves during the process. "I use a lot of bold and bright colour in my work and try to bring a lot of positivity, too. I hope people will enjoy the different takes on each letter – it pushed my creativity."
Based in Manchester, Robert Lomas is an independent graphic designer, specialising in animation, illustration and branding. With over 12 years' experience, he's worked with Arts Council England, Barnardo's, The Rivers Trust, and The NHS. "My work is bold, positive and relevant. I'm looking to work with people who share a positive attitude and want to bring about positive change."
