Art director Caroline Glover and advertising creative Selina Heathcote have joined forces to launch 40 Days 40 Heroes, a daily art project on Instagram that honours the frontline workers and everyday heroes of the Covid-19 crisis and helps to raise money for NHS Charities.
It's an idea that began in Spain. "Selina and I used to work together at The Good Agency, an agency specialising in doing just that," says Caroline. "She now lives in Barcelona and knows the guys who set up the original Spanish arm of the project. I also had a brief foray in print on demand working for Moonpig as design manager, so I'm used to curating selections of work and have lots of illustrator contacts. So it felt so nice to be able to use my skills towards something positive during these unsettling times."
Every day, until 20 May, the duo are sharing new, original illustrations dedicated to a different group of heroes. Each illustration is up for auction (place a bid for your favourite in the comments section) with all proceeds donated to the NHS Charities Covid-19 Appeal.
They have some amazing artists on the bill including Kelly Anna London, Genie Espinosa, Erin Anika, Vicktorija Semjonova, and Laurène Boglio.
If you'd like to take part, find out more, or bid on the artworks to help raise money for the NHS Charities, then follow 40 Days 40 Heroes on Instagram.
