London-based design agency Lewis Moberly has designed a bottle “kissed by the tide” for Tidal Rum, a drink it describes as "a craft rum started in the Caribbean, finished in Jersey."
Lewis Moberly worked across the brand identity and packaging design ahead of Tidal Rum's UK launch this month.
The rum was created by Jersey-based Shorts Boy Distillery, and according to Lewis Moberly—which also created the distillery identity—is "a pale golden island rum infused with Pepper Dulse for a salty sweetness" and "a product made possible by the extreme tide of the Channel Isles that allow these short seaweed tendrils to flourish."
"The Tidal bottle is defined by gently curved shoulders and a solid wooden stopper," says the agency. "The graphics have an enigmatic simplicity framed by the brand story. Wrapped in branded tissue which follows the contours of the coastal tides, Tidal is presented in a contrasting canister."
Mary Lewis, design director on the project at Lewis Moberly, adds: “Rum is poised to be enjoyed in a more contemporary and inspirational context. Our design captures the growing need to discover uncharted territory. It is distinguished by the moon which determines the Earth’s tides. Evocative text celebrates this natural phenomenon."
