Paul Johnson illustrates every Manchester City game this season

"Even though I’ve lived in London since 2004, Man City are close to my heart, and I go to as many games in Manchester and London as I can. Hence the North and South studio name," explains Paul.

"This is a personal project that came out of initially doing an illustration for the start of this Premiership season (Brighton away) and then I said to myself wouldn’t it be fun to do a football illustration for every Premiership match City play this season as a personal project! I’m 11 in so only another 27 to go!"

Paul adds: "I think all creatives should have a personal project on the go, they keep you fresh. I’m really enjoying this one as obviously it’s close to my heart but it’s allowing me to develop and expand my illustration style as I go.

"Having to do one each week (sometimes two) can be awkward, especially when work is calling but I’m really enjoying the experience. I have a small notebook that I carry everywhere and scamp out ideas into as I get them. I’ve already got a few lined up for the next three or four matches."
