In his series Square Modern, Jun Takahashi loves to use sharp angles and shapes to create geometric sports characters that seem to leap off the page. With a muted, contemporary palette of colours, Jun aims to "fuse traditional comic illustrations with surface structure", bringing together a "static yet dynamic" style.
The Tokyo-based illustrator has been freelancing since 2014 after working for various agencies in Japan. He was responsible for crafting illustrations for magazines, packaging designs and also cartoons for television producers such as CM Maker.
Since going solo, Jun has worked for Japan Coca-Cola, Logitech and Sapporo City Transportation Bureau, amongst many others. You can discover more of his distinctive style at juntakahashi.jp.
