For his latest series, photographer Tarik Ahmet hopped along to Walton-on-the-Naze to capture the small British seaside town "out of season".
"I was curious to see how the area looked when it wasn’t full of families lining the beach with deck chairs, building sand castles and eating ice cream from a cone," Tarik told Creative Boom. "Walton has so much charm and nostalgia which took me right back to 1987 when I first visited the nearby beach Clacton On Sea with my family."
He adds: "I find it a strange thing to see such an amazing sandy beach go from an area full of energy and life during peak times to what seems like an abandoned ghost town. If felt almost eerie how quiet the area was. Almost like the world had gone into slow motion. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, what with how life moves at breakneck speed nowadays; we could all do with slowing down from time to time."
Tarik is also creating a short documentary to accompany the series. It will feature interviews with local people. To find out more, visit www.oh-brother.co.uk or follow Tarik on Instagram.
