Contemporary Brazilian artist Harding Meyer – featured previously – has unleashed a fresh series of hyperrealistic, large-scale portraits of beautiful women. Entitled The Others, he will be exhibiting his latest series at the Galerie Voss in Düsseldorf this autumn.
His artworks are crafted with a frenzy of heavy duty brushstrokes and palette knife markings, inspired by pixelated photographs that can often be found on the Internet. Focusing on the human face, Harding loves to get really close to the eyes and derives pure human emotion from each and every fictional character he brings to life.
Born in 1964 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Meyer studied at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künst in Karlsruhe, Germany where he currently lives and works. His solo show, The Others, will launch on 26 August at Galerie Voss and run until 5 November 2016.
