Why do you do what you do? That's the question posed in the With Love Project, a limited edition book which captures nearly 40 of the UK's most unique and traditional artists and makers, revealing their craft through stunning photography and personal stories.
Launched on Kickstarter, the campaign to make the book a reality is brought to you by Chris Roberts, an art director, and Rob Evans – a photographer based in Manchester and documents their search to find individuals who truly care about what they do and what they produce. They’ve spent the past two years travelling the length and breadth of the British Isles, from the Outer Hebrides to the tip of Cornwall – and asked everyone the same question… why do you do what you do?
Speaking of the people they met, Chris said: "We’ve been humbled by their openness and enthused by their work and attitude. Some days we’ve driven for 10 hours to meet people; other days we’ve ventured out of the UK. Each and every journey is filled with excitement and anticipation of hearing another great story; an insight into someone’s thinking, their way of life and a chunk of knowledge and advice to hold on to."
From furniture makers and motorcycle manufacturers building everything from hand to wheelwrights who can trace their family trade back to the 1300s and tailors who've produced suits for the likes of Pavarotti – the duo share their fascinating stories in this limited edition, hardback book.
