Once again the creative community has stepped up to do its bit, and this time the people behind Design Calendar are getting involved, launching GOBID19 – an online auction to fight Covid-19 and help the Red Cross.
Kicking off on Saturday 25 April at 19:00 GMT, the aim is to raise as much money as possible while promoting the "amazing work of the design community". How does it work? Designs will be donated digitally in a high resolution, they'll be showcased the week before the event, and then the bidding will start from £5 for each design. You'll also be able to continue bidding three days after the live auction begins.
If you're a designer and you want to submit artwork, then the deadline is 24 April. You can donate your design online. All disciplines are welcome. You just have to submit in a high-resolution format, so the winning bidder can print your work.
So far, designs have been submitted by Simona Bunardzhieva, an illustrator and artist based in Berkeley, California; Belen Piche, a designer from Barcelona; artist and designer Daniel Eche from Port Harcourt, and Matthew Kempton, a product designer from London. You can go browse all of the designs so far at designcalendar.io.
