The London Illustration Fair is returning this December with a programme packed full of the most exciting illustration, printmaking and design.
Kicking off on 1 December on London’s Southbank at the raw industrial space of the Bargehouse, this year's three-day event puts the emphasis on play with interactive artworks and hands-on workshops. With over 65 exhibitors, from the hottest emerging talent to established names, The London Illustration Fair is the destination to discover the best in illustration today.
Feast your eyes on new work by illustration greats including doodle-bomber Hattie Stewart and featured artist Marcelina Amelia (as pictured), fresh from shows in New York and Stockholm. Between Stewart’s notorious magazine cover takeovers, and Amelia’s playfully dark images, visitors to the fair are in for a treat.
The Art of Ping Pong and our favourite scribbler Mr Doodle will be helping The London Illustration Fair serve up a menagerie of interactive games, all in aid of a good cause. Marvel as technology takes over the main gallery, where the machine becomes the artist, courtesy of tech artist Damien Borowik. He will be joined by BAFTA-winning artist and filmmaker Ian Gouldstone whose site-responsive software sculpture ‘Wanton Boys’ responds directly to the space’s architecture.
Be transported into the wild as Illustration Fair favourites Ben Rothery and Sandra Dieckmann lead the ‘Wilderness’ room – an exploration of all that’s weird and wonderful in the natural world. Get hands-on with a workshop programme jam-packed with have-a-go activities.
Explore the history of record sleeve illustration, create your own graphic novel, and experiment with printmaking techniques. From beginners to wannabes to professionals, there are sessions to suit everyone. Find out more at thelondonillustrationfair.co.uk.
