Graphic artist, print-maker and designer Anthony Burrill has collaborated with Rosie GarcÍa, founder of HUMAN \, to create a powerful message for mental health awareness.
Human Together, Together Human is a limited-edition print sold via Rosie's website at humanhuman.co.uk with all profits going to Young Minds Mental Health Charity.
Anthony, famous for his compelling text-based compositions and bold statements, has been known to work on projects that advocate positive social change and projects that shed light on environmental issues such as his 'Oil and Water Do Not Mix’ print which drew attention to the 2010 Gulf of Mexico disaster.
Having met Anthony Burrill in 2018 while working on another project to raise money for Shelter, the pair struck up a friendship. Anthony spent a day guiding Rosie through the process and precision of screen printing at Adam’s of Rye, along with Ian and Derek who set and printed the wood type prints using traditional letterpress techniques.
"I’ve always liked Anthony’s distinctive style," says Rosie. "What’s so obvious about his work is that he loves the process of creating something meaningful. Reiterating and reworking it until he lands on something striking, that has a positive or moving sentiment. Working with him on this print was a total joy and I can only hope it brings more significant attention to MHA and to the precious thing that we all share, our humanity."
Human Together, Together Human is available via humanhuman.co.uk.
