As designers, you're always looking for the next big font for your projects, hoping to uncover a family no one else has yet discovered. We get it. You want to be original.
Don't go sharing it around too much, but we've discovered a rather tasty new foundry, courtesy of London-based designer Mark Bloom aka Mash Creative.
CoType, which itself is a beautifully designed website, has just launched with four new fonts available to buy.
Aeonik, Ambit, Coanda and RM Neue are contemporary typefaces for use in both digital and print. All of them support Latin Extended-A, Western European, Central European and Southeastern European languages. Even better, CoType provides free trials across its entire font library, allowing you to try before you buy.
Aeonik is a personal favourite. Advertised as a "structural workhorse, crafted with mechanical detail", it's conceived as a "neo-grotesque with a geometric skeleton" and comes in seven weights and italics, so you can get full use out of the family.
Then there's RM Neue, inspired by utilitarian neo-grotesques, it's a timeless addition to your font library and has been designed to be clean and legible at all sizes. It features compact proportions and a low-contrast design, which make it feel immediately familiar, yet not as sterile as would be expected for such a grotesque design. Available in five weights: light, regular, semibold, bold and black.
Coanda, meanwhile, is an "ideology of the future, crafted from the past". It honours the 20th-century designers Wim Crouwel and Mimmo Castellano and pays respect to the meticulous detail crafted by The Designers Republic.
Finally, there's Ambit, described as an eccentric and unique sans serif font inspired by early grotesques but adapted for the 21st century. It's most striking details are the curly 'f' and 'r'. Available in seven weights, from thin to black, each with oblique italics.
