Do you ever feel anxious when you see people's amazing work on social media? Or read about their latest successful projects in leading magazines? Yes, we do, too. Which is why we try and share work from both emerging and established creatives.
But two third-year graphic design students at Central Saint Martins are going much further with a project that hopes to "keep our community of students together during these tumultuous times, regardless of location".
Abbie Lilley and Lili Phillips have launched Nearly, an online publishing platform that reveals the creative process, the submissions that never got published, the ideas that never came to anything, the mistakes and the lessons and "the wild and wonderful thinking behind making".
"We're part of a collective of students, currently facing a lot of uncertainty as to how and when we will complete our degree," says Abbie. "We saw this as an opportunity to bring a fresh approach to what a digital space can be; building a platform to lean on each other, share our working progress and watch how we can flourish into the creators we know we can be."
Nearly promises to create a "positive, interactive and collective space for play" – something that massively appeals to Creative Boom and our own push for inclusivity, so we're looking forward to following their journey.
"Over the past few days, we have both been frantically sending emails and DMs to our peers, asking for submissions," adds Lili. "As I'm sure you can agree, it's such an honour to receive a sneak peek into a diverse range of creatives minds. There is so much talent amongst our community; Now, more than ever, we both feel it is our duty to champion our fellow creators, by sharing their works far and wide."
