In her Vintage London series, street photographer Polly Rusyn – featured previously – captures the eccentric, wonderful characters who love to dress up in vintage clothes and enjoy wandering around a classic car boot sale in London's Kings Cross.
Speaking of the project, she said: "The car boot is such an awesome spot for street photography because those pre-disposed to dressing up in vintage clothes are more than happy to be photographed – easy for street portraits and candid portraiture. Plus, it is super colourful, although I opted to shoot in black and white; and it’s great for layering composition… all in all – an ace weekend! For me it’s all about the vintage characters and I’ve tried to capture their quirks in my images."
After a decade as a graphic designer Polly spent six years travelling around the world, eventually finding gainful employment in the travel industry for another seven before giving it all up to pursue her passion for street and travel photography.
Polly now runs regular street photography composition workshops in London, is about to run her first overseas meet-up in Seville over a weekend, and is having fun freelancing as a photographer in the capital. Discover more at Pollyrusyn.com.
